Complaint Review: Green Heat Service

   My wife purchased a discount home heater vent cleaning and free housecall to examine our furnace which has not been working.   The crew showed up and hooked up a big filter device to a vent in the front room and then took a shop vac to the vents in the other rooms.  They also performed a cleaning of the dryer vent, which I have yet to verify. 

  Upon examining the heater they said they would need to clean out the dirt or any repairs would not work anyway.  They quoted $495 and we said we could not do that.  They then proceeded to ask how much we could pay(danger sign right there) and eventually then came down to $200 to clean and get the furnace working.  I agreed and told them "if you can get the furnace working for $200 then ok."   They went ahead and cleaned the furnace but said that they needed a part and that they would purchase the part(which we would reimburse) and some out tomorrow to install it.  We wrote a check for $200 and they left for the night.  

  When their scheduler calls the next day they tell us that they will need to charge another $300 for the labor.   At this point we tell them that this was not even close to what we were told and it becomes obvious that this is an upselling ripoff.   We asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and are still waiting for a call back.   Do NOT do business with these people.
