I signed up with Green Mountain Energy in October 2010. In june, 2011, my payments were over $200 a month. I live in a 900 sq. ft. apartment and my neighobrs with similar size units had electric bills that were $100 less. I first contacted the company in June 2011 and was told that a supervisor would contact me. No one called.

The same bill, over $200 came in July. I contacted cusomer service, who assured me that Oncor, the firm contracted to read the meters of Green Mountain customers, would be out to read my meter. Nothing happened.

Ausgust, same excessive bill, same call to customer service, same explanation that someone would be out to read the meter. Again, no one came and no one called.

In addtion, I requested a mailed statement each month, and insted was notified by email. Each month, I used my account number and password supplied by GME, only to have a red box come up on the bill payment site, indicating that the user name/password was invalid.

I have had to contact customer service each month to pay my bill and request a new password.

This company is a rip off, it is impossible to receive any assistance when the bills are excessively higher than others who have the same size unit, In addtion, the site to pay the bill each month is also not user friendly and requires taking time to call customer service, who, of course, apologize for any inconvience.

If you are in process of selecting an electric provder in Texas, do  NOT choose this company.
