I was given a call from a Joshua Thomas with Green Tree Capital Group telling me that they received my application online and that they could approve my loan even though I had poor credit. I had just applied for this loan in the amount of $13k and was declined from a company named Beneficial loacated in Antioch, CA and also was declined from a company called MBNA who is affiliated with Bank of America.

This Joshua Thomas had information about my loan application, the amount, my name and contact info and that I was not approved before. He told me that I could get approved for the full $13k with a 6.0% rate for 6yrs. and all I had to do was pay in advance 6 months of payments to secure the loan ($1283.52 total).

I was faxed a contract signed by the adjuster named George L. Dunlop and also bu CEO Harold D. Hall, which seemed to be legit and my parents even viewed the contract and thought that it sounded good. I was told that if I sent the money that I would get the loan wired to my checking account within 24hrs. So I had gone to my local Wal-Mart to send the money through a Money Gram to somebody in Canada who they claimed was their secretary. I don't have her name available at the moment unfortunately.

Anyways a guy named Mr. Miles called saying he was the customer service manager and that the lender ran my credit again and claimed that another 6mo. payments would be necessary to secure the loan, so another $1283.52, or I could request a refund. I requested a refund and they told me that on Oct. 18th I would get my money back, today is Oct. 20th and still no money.

From viewing the other complaints about this company that I've discovered today they were all told the same thing and did not get their money back either. How can people get away with this crap? I want my d**n money back... I'm in even more sdebt than before now, this loan was for debt consolidation and that $1283.52 could have paid for a few bills. Can somebody do anything to help us out in a class action law suite? I wish that I wouldn't have been so desperate to get this loan, I would have looked up the company online before I applied with them last month.

The phone number above was also reportedly used by Citizen Investment Group . 800-727-0742 . Fraud reported on the BBB website . From the details on the BBB website this is a Fake Loan Company Scam . For more examples of fake loan company scam emails and websites , see the forums at scamwarners dot com . Dont ever conduct loan business with someone you cant meet and also never pay for anything via wire transfer . A Good Rule of Thumb for consumers is : Wire Transfer Business Deals = Fraud .

Fake Loan Companies make their money by charging upfront fees for loans you'll never get . Many of them originate out of West Africa , India and China . VOIP phone services mean that these people can operate from out of the country with a USA phone number .
