I financed through Conseco; after Conseco went bankrupt it became Green Tree Servicing. Although, we are still getting letters to refinance with Conseco as late as March 2006. I am a widow, on SS taking care of an elderly mother. They have my interest rate over 12% and $1883.00 monthly payments. Found myself in some financial difficulities recently and they put me in foreclosure. After I paid off the foreclosure amount, they did not take my name or address off the city records or credit reports. Have had as many as 18 calls in one day. Cannot answer my phone as no minutes are left... Green Tree calls as early as 6 AM and as late as midnight, they call on week-ends including Sunday and on holidays. They have contacted neighbors who have left notes in my mailbox and my borther (who does not bother with us for years).

They want to know what I spend my money on; and are excessively rude... they will not listen to your explanations and charge hundreds of dollars A DAY on late fees. They have caused a great deal of anxiety and problems for me, now they have taken money out of my checking account (not the first time)without my permission and put me in an overdraft of $800.

The Government should do something regarding this business; they have hurt many people and they do not care. They have called for a payment when the payment was not even due yet.

Certainly hope someone, somewhere will help. I intend to go as far as possible with the Federal Government to make them stand up and take a good look at Green Tree.

Contact your bank now if they are taking un-authorized money from your checking account!

If they are taking money from your checking account contact your bank NOW! Unless you gave permission this can not be done. If you did give permission... change that now. Your bank will refund all and any money withdrawn from your account without authorization. This is illegal.

From my experience with Greentree/Conseco... I am not surprised. They demanded I stop payment on a check I sent in the mail... stating it was not proper payment since I was late one month and I had to make payment by phone. I was threatened and harrassed over this before the payment I mailed was even 30 days late. I told them I was recording calls...and they said they were recording it too. They told me they were refusing the payment I mailed, they told me they were taking our house and then stated that they were changing the terms of my loan and demanding payment in full, laughing and saying...."Good luck making that payment now!" They even sent someone to our door! All efforts to notify the corporate office of this go right back to the office that harrassed me, with no one to go to above the supervisors in our local office. My husband canceled this check, at our expense, and payed by phone. The said they would not cash the check I mailed...they TRIED to anyway, then sent nasty letters about it being nonsufficient funds. Be very careful of them, they borderline on organized crime!

Coming to our door personally.... that is scary, it wasn't like we were six months behind. At the time this began we were not even 30 days late!!! What kind of company does this??? Do I need to be concerened about more than our payment to Greentree? What about my families safety? They are not worth it.
