I placed an order line with Greenculture, Inc. I ordered a dining room set with extra chairs. The chairs were on another page. When I clicked it the table came along. I thought my previous table was already secured.

Any way when the table arrived - I saw the delivery man putting it together. I stopped him and told him that was the wrong table. He made a call and said his boss it is the wrong table but keep it until the new table arrives in 2 weeks. He wrote this on shipping slip I signed.

I immediately call Shawn the representative I was working with. He said it was the right table. When I went back and looked the order form - I had indeed ordered the wrong table. But dealing with a representative why wouldn't he tell me that "you have ordered 8 chairs to go with a table that sits 4". I guess not.

I told him I was sending it back for the right now. He said do not send that table back because they would not accept it. I ordered to pay for the shipping myself. He said that it would get damaged. Strange it didn't get damaged coming to me.

No matter what I suggested - they were not taking the table back. But they would give me a small discount if I ordered the correct table.

I spent 2200.00 for those chairs and table. And couldn't get them to take back anything. - Pure rip-off.

I went with this company because they are environmental friendly. I guess then you do not have to be people friendly.

No one offered me a 50% - I still have the emails (too bad I didn't record the conversations: See...

Hello Darlene, Please do not return the table to us. That is the table you ordered, we cannot except it back. You may purchase the table you wanted at a discounted price. We are willing to discount that table $200 and give you $50 off of the shipping. That would bring your total for the new table including shipping to $1030. There is no other table for you. The carrier was wrong, you received the another table. You can do whatever you want with the other table maybe sale it or donate it to chairty. We will not except delievery of that table if you send it back to us and then you will have to pay for the return shipping with whatever company you were planning on using. I am turely sorry about your mistake but you should have saw this because the have two deifferent names for these tables. GreenCulture Shaun Coleman.

My total order came to $2165.  Like I said Pure Ripoff.

I researched your complaint and this is what I found:

Yes, you did order the wrong table, and being an eCommerce company your order was placed with the maufacturer and treated as a custom order, which you failed to mention.  Unfortunately, a custom order means the manufacturer will not take it back, even if it was an error.  It is made with your name on it. If it was an error on our part, yes we would take it back, but if the error is on the customer's part it is not returnable.  As a result, GreenCulture cannot and should not pay for the customer's error, which included shipping.  Since the box was opened and the furniture was partially assembled, there is no way it could be returned since it will not be returned in the same condition it was received (it is now considered used furniture), which is true even if returning product to a brick and mortar store.  Taking back furniture in the condition it was now in would be a total loss and would end up in a landfill. We did offer you a 50% discount to assist you but you refused. There is nothing else that can be done.
