Greendot Corp took my money Monrovia California
bought a greendot card through walmart money card and a visa through greendot,both are through greendot..and greendot took all my money till i called and disputed with an acual person that speaks english. her name is Mia Smith and her number is 626-775-3806,finally got my 250 dollars unblocked.but seems they are real good at blocking peoples accounts,so sadly not too many people are aware that they can go past the imigrants that answer the phones and dont seem to know what they are doing...i will be getting my money off these cards and cutting them up.greendot is a monster!

I hate to sound like I'm defending Green Dot as I'm a former employee that left with 'extreme prejudice', but they don't actually employ immigrants. One call center is physically in India. :)
The back-end system at Green Dot is home-grown and is absolutely horrible. I'm also a former Green Dot customer, I would not trust my money to them.
Unfortunately, there are tons of ways to automatically get your card temporarily blocked, and sometimes it seems to just happen at random to random people. For some of these blocks the call center operators have no way to find out what actually happened and they can only go by what it says on the screen, no matter how ridiculous it is. They have to have a specialist investigate, largely by hand and running custom reports, because nobody at Green Dot trusts the system.
So, don't blame the operators, blame the company and the system itself. It's fragile, convoluted and has a life of it's own.
