On May 15 2008 my son took his GreenDot prepaid mastercard to a ATM located at 600 Washington Street In Newell west Virginia which PCN owns. He did the transaction and everything went through then the screen went black and said the transaction was unable to process no money was dispersed. I contacted GreenDot as soon as it happen and it was very hard to talk to a live person when I did finally talk with the rep from GreenDot he was very rude and was unable to help me said to mail a letter to California and when it was received they would be able to help me. I called PNC bank who was just as rude said to contact greendot!

ON may 16th greendot had completed the transaction even after I had called several times on the 15th. Finally PNC gave me the number who handles the ATM I spoke to a very supportive person who did a three way call with greendot. Only to be told to write a letter to California Corp. Office which I had done and sent on May 15th. Both PNC and Greendot knows the money was not dispersed from the ATM record. Now its 5-21-2008 and Greendot says should be credited today. Do not see it happening just lots of phone calls and the run around from both companys.

Not All ATM's are owned by the bank

#4Consumer Suggestion

Mon, June 23, 2008

Banks rent out other company ATM machines. The Bank does not manage or fix or repair these machines. It uses their logo so you would not be charged for taking money from say Walgreen's.

If using a Green Dot Card, you have to read the fine print and see how long it will take to fix a problem. If it not Green Dot Corp problem, you have to contact the owner of the machine(someone might have tampered with the machine)(Number is mostly on those ATM machines).

Even to check your balance there is a FEE. You will never get the FEE back. But the money that was to be given should be credited.

Most banks think "They just want more money, so they lie stating that they never received the money in the first place."

So the first thing the bank or GREEN DOT will ask. "What Machine did you use?" If you have a receipt, it will have all the information on it.

So If the machine was not working, did it give you a receipt, if so, call up or e-mail with a sweet e-mail to Green Dot first. Then go to The owners of the ATM and then the PNC bank. check your balance once in a while to see what was in the account. Just remember The fee is never paid back EVER.

This is for Stand alone ATM machines. This is not for ATM on or in the bank hallways.
