We have a manufactured home financed through Greentree, unfortunately. A year ago, we tried to sell our home, or have someone assume the loan. At the time Greenpoint was our lender. We talked to Jennifer in the loan department and she told us our loan was assumable, we had someone wanting to assume the loan, so we sent the papers in and they were turned down. A week later, we sent some papers in for another couple, and we were told by Jennifer that the loan was no longer assumable, because Greentree was buying them out.

We tried to work out something with them to get our house sold, but they were no help. Finally, we had someone basically rent the house. About a year later we were called by Greentree saying our payment was late, and I needed to make a payment arrangements with them, because my account was going to collections. I have never been over 15 days late, never had to pay a late charge. So I told them that it wasn't late, and I wouldn't make arrangements with them. After looking at my last statement, my payoff is about the same as it was 6 years ago. They are basically taking all the payments and applying them to interest. If anyone knows how to get away from these people, let me know. They have been nothing but rude and uncooperative. I'm afraid things are only going to get worse. Everyone needs to get together, and file a class action lawsuit against these crooks!
