Mark Manuel, Greg Manuel and Mike Manuel, the notorious Manuel Brothers formerly of Texas repute, were sued on May 30, 2008 in a federal class action complaint for securities fraud, Jerry and Deborah Smith v. MPIRE Holdings, Mark Manuel, Greg Manuel, Mike Manuel. The Manuel's set up numerous shell companies on and offshore (MPIre, mrt holdings) to target unwary investors in an investment ponzi scheme that promised huge investment returns.

The Manuels sold unregistered securities in the form of Investment Accounts and other instruments representing themselves as licensed investment professionals. Mark Manuel pursuaded hundreds of people to invest in the "offshore" investment scheme both personally and through what he called promoters or managers who were paid large commissions for getting others to invest. Neither the Manuels nor the managers were licensed investment professionals.

We believe Greg and Mark Manuel took most of the funds, spending much of the money on things to make them look successful (aircraft, boats, resort codominiums). The IRS, US Postal Service, SEC and FBI are all investigating the Manuels, which will likely result in charges beign filed. Smith v. MPIRE, Case #3:2008cv00549.
