Complaint Review: Groiler books aka scholastic

I believed I had ordered for an honest book order when my 6 year old daughter brought home her book orders from school. We purchased the barbie book club that clearly said no further purchase was necessary. We then received a new order of books which I allowed her to keep and I sent in a payment.

Then I received another and immediately sent it back without opening it and then another came which was sent back as well unopened. I then started to receive notices of deliquency. I found it odd that there was no phone number to contact anyone at the company on the letters. I returned a letter to the address listed on the bill letting them know that I had returned all packages that I had not paid for yet I keep receiving deliquency letters.

The third one came today 1/9/03 and I decided to check out their web address. What a mess!!! It never once put me throught to groiler or scholastic(both names appear on the bill), it kept wrapping around from one bad site to another. I did a search and and saw the page for the rip off report.

Thank you I know have a phone number 1-800-353-3140. I will calling it immediately. If I do not get this cleared up I will be contacting my local news stations. It is so sad that a low life would take advantage of our children and parents who are trying to give them an head start in reading. I will think twice before ordering anything from a book order again.
