Complaint Review: Grupo Global Exchange

I recently exchanged money at Grupo Global Exchange at the Madrid airport.  They told me at the exchange that I could get a really good rate if I exchanged more than $1100.  So I exchanged $2000.  They told me the rate including commission was $1.53 US dollars per Euro.  I questioned the rate because I thought it was closer to 1.40.  The clerk told me it was a very good rate, better than what I can get elsewhere especially since I was heading to Tarifa, a resort community.

I exchanged the money.

Upon arriving in Tarifa, I exchanged a smaller amount of money and received a rate of 1.44 including commission.  It appeared that I was made a fool of by Grupo Global Exchange.

 I returned to the Madrid airport last Wednesday and confronted one of the clerks.  They told me that their exchange rate was very competitive, better than most in the city of Madrid.

 This was another lie.

 I requested a refund of what I calculated to be 80 Euros.  They told me they could not do that.  They offered to refund the full amount of money that I had exchanged from before, but of course, I had spent most of that money.
