Guardsman Furniture Protection Plan Worthless Service Grand Rapids, Michigan
We purchased a leather sectional from Havertys about a year ago, at which time they offered us a 5-year protection plan, which was supposed to cover the furniture in case it gets damaged. We agreed to the additional coverage provided by Guardsman. Last month we filed a claim because of small faded spots and scrape on the leather, and squeaking of the frame/mechanism. Our claim (10734531) was denied on the pretext that the reported damage is not covered under the terms of the protection plan and the reporting timeframe. If anyone plans to buy from Havertys and they offer you the Guardsman protection plan, read the protection plan and carefully think twice before paying extra for services that may not be available when you need it.

What 5 day time frame? Time frame for what? You bought the thing a year ago and its a 5 year plan.
As for the damage being a covered item, what does your coverage documentation state is covered, and is it worded in any way that could exclude your damage?
If not, seek help from the state agency that oversees insurers, because all these companies do from the start is deny deny deny. And Haverty's is generally a dependable store. Have they offered no help in getting Guardian to man up? How high up Haverty's corporate ladder have you climbed for help? Don't let them off the hook. Lean on them to intercede.

Will not honor contract because timeframe was past 5 days. Requires mail only for service request.
Guardsman, please go out of business as soon as possible!
Do NOT purchase anything from these people! They will find any reason to deny your request!
