We bought two new tables from J.C. Penny and had them both insured by Guardsman. We had a party for my 6 year old daughter and unfortunately made marks in one of the tables during the party.

We called Guardsman and they had us arrange for a carpenter to come out and photograph the table. There were too many marks on the table, and the carpenter suggested we redo the table top, not spot fix.
Guardsman denied the claim. They said the marks were not made at one time, eventho we said it was during my daughter's party. They have a clause that says if the marks are not reported after they have been made, then they will not be covered. In other words, over time. Basically calling us liars!

This was not the case, yet they denied the claim anyway. They must have attended the party! This was an easy excuse for them not to fix the table. I will never do business with this company again and ask you to beware as well.

Their BS insurance covers all Accidental Damage and Stains. Burns/ heat/ liquid/ Dents/ gouges/ Grease/ oil/ Bleach/ Grass/ paint/ tar/ wax/ food/ fluids/ nail polish remover. but if you try to claim it, they can just say it happened over time...toooo bad! Go pound sand!!
