I worked for Elliot French at Gulf Line Transport in Savannah, GA. I found a better job and gave my notice. I worked through my 2 weeks notice, at the end of my last day after turning in the truck keys to the owner of the truck.

Elliot asked me to come in the following morning and pull 1 container out of the port to keep him from getting backed up. I told him I had another job to go to the following morning and could not because I would run the risk of losing my new job.

Elliot said that was fine, and "Oh, by the way, go take a drug test". I told him I didn't work for him any longer as I had already turned in all of my equipment, logs, dray sheets, etc.

Elliot put on my DAC report that I refused a drug screen. Come to find out, I was not the first one he did this to. He has some what of a reputation in Savannah for being a cheat and a liar when he doesn't get his way.

As an EX-employee...

I lost my job due to Tracy's wife taking a dispatching job at my company.  She then stole my job and gave it to her husband.  That is how I ended up with his old job at, of all places, Gulfline with Elliot French.

Since French IS such a stickler for details and company policies, I really find it hard to believe that he would try to make Tracy take a drug test after a two week notice had been given and gone.  My guess is that since he (Tracy) was illegally trip leasing with my company, he never gave proper notice.  Kinda like his wife telling me there were no drays, yet when I came into get my truck Tracy was flooded with them.  So who might the liars and cheats be?

French never cheated me.  I have actually been reimbursed with personal checks from some aggravating, time consuming dry runs. He never took any part of my fuel-surcharge, has brought me diesel in a couple of 5 gallon jugs when a last minute run in the port got me hung up for a couple of hours, provided hand-helds so I wasn't burning up phones with Q&As, or having to run in the office for #s or ran into problems at the port.

I don't really know what Tracy and Ruby's problem is, but it isn't Gullfline or French.

There is usually a reason people are cut throats and don't care who they hurt in the long run.

All you have to do is interview any ex-employees and find out that Elliot French is in the habit of back stabbing anyone who does not let him have his way. But DAC and OOIDA will be able to sort it out.

There is usually a reason why drivers will not go for random drug tests.....

Tracy was a driver for a truck that was leased on to Gulf Line Transport. He never worked for me. He was working for his truck owner. I dispatched his truck. He was told 2 days before leaving that he had been selected for a random drug screen. He had many excuses why he could not go right then and take the test. As the terminal manager I answer to my home office safety department on these matters and it is my responsibility to make sure he went for the drug test. I had to promise the safety department that he would be there to take the test but he never made it.

His complaint about me stated that he had given a 2 week notice and worked that notice out. That is just not true. He came into the office one morning and said HIS TRUCK OWNER was moving him and he was leaving. Again, let me state clearly, HE DID NOT GIVE OR WORK OUT A TWO WEEK NOTICE. Because it was my responsibility to get him to his drug test I then asked him to go ahead THAT DAY and get the drug screen but he refused. Just as was reported to DAC. It is my job and responsibility to report when a driver does not go for randoms.

After speaking with Tracy's truck owner, who is a very nice Christian man, I was told Tracy had lied to me and that he did not want to move the truck but Tracy wanted to move the truck because his wife was now working for another trucking company and he wanted to go there.

I have never asked him or any other driver to pull any container after he was terminated. After he told me he was leaving i asked him to work out that day because i had taken on extra work under the impression i would have his truck. He could have worked that day and gotten his screen screen completed but he chose not to do any of that. His leaving all of a sudden did in fact put me in a bind. Also, I really dont believe Mr. E would have been at risk of losing his job since he was going to a company where his wife was working. So, that part of his statement is also not true.

Tracy left Gulf Line Transport in Oct of 2006. The only reason there is a report on this web site 2 YEARS LATER is because a woman that was recently working as a independent contractor for Gulf Line Transport has gone to work where Tracy is now working along with his wife Ruby and she is a very vindictive and revengeful person and this is her little way of trying to hurt Gulf Line Transport. I am very sure when this web site contacts Ruby and Tracy that i have responded she will be very happy. Some people thrive on drama such as this. This is just how some people operate.

I am thankful i don't live my life this way or have to resort to this kind of negatism.

I wish you all the best and good luck to you,

Elliott French
