Gyft Gyft theft of information then closing account Redwood City California
I opened an account with Gyft and was pleased to see they gave me a free $5 card for opening an account. I then proceeded to purchase 3 giftcards, with 3 separate orders as I was using a different payment method for each. I then went to place a 4th order and received an error saying "Payment could not be verified, please contact customer support"
I figured this was because I had placed too many orders too quickly and decided to try again another day. 3 days later, I go to place an order and receive the same message. I contact customer support who states "We cannot accept your payment" They won't give me a reason why they cannot and just tell me I can no longer purchase. Now I have a locked up account with my purchased gift cards that is useless. No refunds, no discussion, just they can no longer help me.
Suspecting this site is a scam, I am proceeding to file chargebacks with all of my credit cards and let people know not to shop here. Definitely a risky business and customer service is clearly not based in the US as they had great difficulties understanding me and I am not sure they knew what the problem was. I would be cautious utilizing them, there's a reason they can afford to give a free $5 to every account.
