H & R Block Rip-off
HR BLOCK IS A RIPOFF, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY "INSTANT REFUND GUARENTEED "
I Recently went to hr block located in Harvey IL, hoping to get my taxes the next day or in 15 minutes. As I did the year before at a diffrent location of the same HR Block.
Well I got there was given the amount i am suppose to get refunded and i was told about $200.00 was going to be taken out of my check for tax prep and rapid refund. I called the automated system and it said I was approved filed and to call later to get date to pick up my check. I called later and the automated system said I was denied and to pick up my check within 11-17 days.
So I called the manager at the Harvey location, and she couldnt explain all she said is the bank has to approve you. I have had bad credit for 4 yrs. and in the process of filing BK.
So I couldnt understand why I did noit recieve the taxes faster. Well thats not all that pissed me off, but how I am completly being charged for an instant tax service fee of an extra $65.00,
If I would have filed my taxes with jackson hewitt I would have gotten my taxes instant at the same price. So DONT GO TO HR BLOCK THEY HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND PRICES!!!!

The reason 200.00 would be taken out of the victim's account is because H & R Block actually covers the amount of the refund in rapid response just like a bank loan. The IRS still controls whether rapid refund is available to the individual. It could have been that companies were trying to get her refund as a payment for an outstanding balance which held up the process for her. This is also why most people who use rapid refund through a tax preparation service also have to wait 1-2 weeks after depositing their check for the funds to be available. I am taking a tax preparation course through H & R Block and have used their services for years. I also started out with the same problem with rapid refund but did the research on it to solve the problem. The 200 dollar fee is H & R Block's payment to cover the expense of using rapid refund as well as to cover interest that their bank charges for forwarding the refund. Even doing rapid refund from your own computer costs a fee.
