I have 2 bmws that have been serviced at Habberstad Bay Shore over several years. Over that time I gave been subjected to fraudulent attempts by several service advisors to sell me services that I did not needed either because the service was previously performed and wasn't required or that a service advisor told me of a problem which did not exist.

on 1/14/14 I brought my Oder car in to repair a problem which caused the service engine light to come on . In addition to a secondary air pump valve which I did need, the service advisor Richard Baldwin told me that I needded a power steering system flush, a fuel injector flush, and a valve cover gasket. The power steering fluid had been replaced less than 500 miles earlier and was fine. There was no evidence that I needed a fuel intro flush, the car was running smoothly with no problems and the valve cover gasket was definitely not leaking. In addition I was charged 3 hours labor for replacement of the air pump valve, a very simple repair consisting of 2 bolts and 2 clamps to replace and which a you tube video states that the repair requires 20 minutes.

On 6/1813 I was told by service advisor Anselmo Paulimo that the power steering fluid needed to be flushes on my newer car as it was "black" the car had only 24000 miles on it and I declined the service. It was later independently confirmed that the fluid was actually "clear" in good condition and did not need to be replaced.

0n 12/20 12 I was told byy steve Lagala at Habberstad they I needed a pore steering guild flush. The fluid had been replaced less than 3 weeks earlier and was in good condition.

0n 12/27/11 I was told by Steve Lagala that I needed front brakes. I declined the service as it didn't seem plausible based on prior service findings. I subsequently con firmed by independent inspection by another service facility that more than half of the brake pad remained. I complained to Jim McCarthy about the fraud and as above service fraud continued .

I have other records of fraudulent activity by Habberstad bay shore on file.

I no longer have my car serviced by Habberstad and strongly recommend that people do not use this dealership for service.

Not the advisors fault

The reason that these service advisors force services on your car that your car doesn't need is because of their boss. It's part of their job to ask their customers for services that the mechanics recommend. If they don't ask then they get in trouble. Unfortunately BMW care's more about money than they do the customers but it actually has nothing to do with the advisors  they are forced to do it as part of their job.
