Complaint Review: Hair in Motion - Espresso in Motion

Used to work for Employer at age 14. Tried to tell me that they legally only have to pay me 2.50/hour as I cleaned the store top to bottom, tried to get me to do shampoos on customer's to get them ready for their haircut, when you legally have to have a cosmetology licence.

Tried to justify saying I was not properly trained, and so 2.50/hr is a training wage. However I was never given any instruction on what to do so I put myself to work cleaning and re-organizing the entire store. Another young girl called the labor board on them. I would show up for work and there would be a note on the door saying the store was closed because the owner was sick and we would not get a phone call. Customers would show up for their appointments and the store would be closed.

Owner's nephew would be sent in to oversee my work and would corner me in the bathroom and sexually harass me. Shutting the bathroom door and not letting me out. Would close the store down anytime they felt like it. Owner's wife would do hair shampoos and would charge for styles such as french braids and other updo's and she is not a licenced stylist. Beware of these people, they are bad news.

Running an illigal side business, under the table. No comment other than that on that subject.
