I visited the Hair Shoppe and Spa in North Canton, Ohio  for over 10 years for hair color.  I had my roots retouched every 6 weeks, usually by my regular stylist.  Everything was fine.  When she wasn't available, the other stylists I visited did a great job.  In July, 2015 my regular stylist told me that my brand of hair color had been discontinued and there would be no noticable change (just a different brand).  I went for 3 retouches with the 'new brand'.  After each visit my scalp burned and my roots were white.  When I mentioned it to her, she said that she would put 'sweet and low' in the color to stop the burning.  I became concerned and made several calls to the salon.  After speaking with 5 different people, a woman (manager? receptionist?) told me that my old formula was a low strength color and a light blond.  The new formula was not just a new brand, it was a double 40 strength platinum developer that was not to be applied directly to skin.  It was for use only with foils and only if the client wanted platimum blond.  I did not want platinum blond, and she applied it directly to my scalp.  I have spent over $500 to repair my hair - conditioning, color adjustments, etc.  It took months for my hair to feel good again.  I have an appointment scheduled with a dermotologist - just to make sure there isn't any permanent damage to my scalp (several stylists have advised me to do this).

No one at the salon has responded to my numerous complaints and inquiries.  I should be compensated for the money I have spent fixing this.   

The Hair Shoppe an Spa is fine - just do not go to Kelli.
