Complaint Review: Haldane and Associates

Having worked with a Big Six Management Consulting firm overseas for nearly seven years, was interested in bringing upper echelon international experience back to the US market. Haldane maintained they had the inside track on all the $200,000 plus jobs nationwide and could provide a wide variety of opportunities in this 'hidden job market'. For this they would only charge a mere $7,000 plus.

I attended their workshops, presented credentials per their recommendations and assisted in preparing mailing materials. Supposedly they sent out hundreds of letters to their insider contacts, but not a single interview resulted.

I subsequently took a job at nearly $300,000 which was discovered on my own. After three years they still maintain, my credentials are in high demand and will generate substantial interest. When asked why no interviews to date, Haldane representatives maintained that my resume was extremely powerful and they were waiting for just the right opportunity. Three years and no opportunities.

I subsequently requested by certified mail a partial refund but to date have had no response. They have cleverly joined the local Better Business Bureau, to enhance their tainted reputations. Anyone considering using them in the future should get some guarentees that the 'hidden' market exists and that they have credibility within that market.
