My 2011 sales with half.com only totaled 543.20, so imagine my surprise when I received this:

Dear jasonmhxxxx,

We're contacting you to inform you that in 2011, your gross payments received from customers through Half.com exceeded $20,000 and you had more than 200 transactions take place.  As required by recently enacted
Internal Revenue Code Section 6050W, we will be sending you a Form 1099-K that reflects the gross payments you received through Half.com and will be reporting the information contained on the form to the IRS.

Normally, Forms 1099-K are mailed by January 31st, however, since this is the first year we've had to send such forms, we've run into some unexpected delays, and have asked the IRS to extend the deadline to mail these forms to no later than March 1st, 2012.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the 1099-K form we will be sending you, you are welcome to contact us through our email form located here:

We appreciate your patience in this matter and we look forward to continuing to do business with you.

Regards,
Half.com
