Complaint Review: Hall Excavating

   I needed someone to clear/clean-up a little over 9 acres and found Mr. Jerry Hall on Craigslist.  The property was a mess due to the original owner clear cutting it several years ago.  Mr. Hall gave us a fair quote and we decided to use him.  I had misplaced his phone number one day and Googled his name to see if I could find his number and stumbled upon this site.

   I would like to say that he has been nothing short of professional and is really good at what he does.  The property was overgrown and there was no way to tell exactly how much work was needed.  He kept us abreast of the progress and the end product is outstanding.  He is very meticulous. 

   I would highly recommend Mr. Jerry Hall to anyone needing his services.  He is spot on and has turned our war zone property into something very nice.  His pricing was very reasonable, in fact, I don't beleive anyone out there could do the same for the price he quoted.

   He will do an outstanding job.  My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the job he has done and will no doubt use him again if the opportunity comes up. 

SIR, I OWNED AND MANAGED A ROOFING COMPANY FOR 30 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME I MET AND WORKED FOR MANY PEOPLE, AVERAGING ABOUT 1 A DAY. DURING THIS 30 YEARS I ENDED IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT TWICE DUE TO CUSTOMER NON-PAYMENT. SOMETIMES YOU MEET THOSE WHO SIMPLY CANNOT BE SATISFIED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A CONTRACT AND ALL WORK TO BE DONE CLEARLY STATED AND SIGNED. I STARTED MY BACKHOE BUISNES IN 2004. AGAIN, MOST OF THE JOBS TAKE ONLY A FEW DAYS SO I CAME IN CONTACT WITH AND HAVE WORKED FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE.  I HEREBY DENY THE CHARGE MADE AGAINST ME. I HAVE KNOW ABOUT THIS REPORT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND I DISMISSED IT AS I WOULD A CHILD HAVING A TEMPER TANTRUM, BUT MY GIRLFRIEND AND MY FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR, RON, WHO WORKS PART TIME FOR ME,WAS THERE AND HELPED ME PERFORM THIS JOB, INSIST THAT I RESPOND. MY FRIENDS AND MY PAST EMPLOYERS KNOW WHAT GREAT LENGTHS I GO TO, TO DO A GOOD JOB AND SATISFY MY EMPLOYER. I HAVE A VERY GOOD WORK RELAYIONSHIP WITH CHARLESTON, BERKELEY,COLLETON,DORCHESTER DHEC. THEY KNOW MY WORK AND MY JOBS HAVE ALWAYS PASSED INSPECTION. I CAN PROVIDE A LIST OF REFERENCES.  JERRY HALL   

I hired a man named Jerry Hall to lay a pad down for a manufactured home, remove trees far a septic tank and get rid of debris from my property. I have used him in the past and he had always came through for me so this time I paid him while the work was being done rather than after. I sent him $4300.00 for this work to be done and as soon as the check was cashed I did not see him again on my property. He only completed removing a few trees and brought in some dirt for the pad that was not completed. It came time to put the house down but the driver would not put it on the "pad" that was created by Jerry as he said it was not sufficient and would never pass code. I had to pay out another $2500.00 to get the pad corrected. The delivery man also said that he had never seen anyone use such bad soil for laying a pad. It had rocks and tree roots in it and looked as if it had been removed from another construction site. I and 3 other people attempted to contact Mr. Hall but he did not return any calls for about 2 weeks. Finally, I was able to get ahold of him and I told him what had transpired in his absence. He said that he had to go out of town and that is why he was not available to be contacted. I expressed my disappointment in his failure to contact me to let me know that he would not be here for the house being installed. I asked Mr. Hall for a refund of only $1000.00 to help with the cost of the other contractor fees and he said "Okay" then hung up the phone. I have not received money or heard from him so I called him again from a different number that he did not recognize so that he would answer. I asked him where the money was and he said that he tried to settle this issue with me but I was "RUDE" to him on the phone so he was done with me. I have attempted to file a small claims case but have not received anything back from the County yet. Rhonda moncks corner, South Carolina
