The Halloween Express In North Little Rock is a complete rip off. They have a "No refund, No Exchange" policy. This is all good because you would think that the reason why they have this policy is so that people can not wear costumes and bring them back. However, I believe that the reason why they have this policy is because they know that when customers realize that they can find several of the exact same costumes at Walmart for cheaper they will want to return their costume they bought from them. I bought my daughter a cinderella costume and it cost 40.00 for just the dress. I then had to purchase the crown which was 6.99 and the gloves which were 6.99. I was outraged when I went to Walmart and founf the dress and crown being sold together for 19.99. And the exact same gloves were 1.00. What happened? Did Halloween Express remove the crown from the dress and sell them seperatly to make a bigger profit? Many other costumes that I seen at that store are also in Walmart for about 20 or 30 dollars cheaper. I feel they did me a dis service by selling me something that they knew was not worth that price. I will never shop there again.

I am the owner ofa Halloween Express store on the east coast. I am not affilated with this North Little Rock location in any way, but being a fellow franchisee, I feel I should defend their actions. We also have the same No refund, No exchange policy in our store and the reason is that people wear costumes to parties and bring them back. I have met most of the Halloween Express owners all over the country, including the owner of this store, and we are all regular people, just trying to earn a living. We are not enacting this no return, no exchange policy to rip anyone off, There is a certain profit margin on these items and we need to make sure our bills are paid.As for your claim that the exact same costume at Wal mart was 20 dollars, I can tell you from experience that the costumes that are sold at Wal-Mart are of a lesser quality than what we carry at our Halloween Express stores, which is one reason for the price increase. Secondly, think of it this way: You may pay a little more for buying a hammer from a local hardware store in town as compared to Home Depot but buying from thehardware storeyou will be supporting small business, which is the backbone to our economy. Since Halloween Express is 100% franchise-owned, we do not have the buying power of a Wal-Mart or Target. However, as a consumer, I completely understand the value of comparison shopping and wouldn't hold it against anyone for buying a Halloween costume at Wal-Mart if is a better deal. But before you go bashing an entire company on the Internet, I feel you should hear both sides of the story.

Well, your not alone. Just went through the same thing. Except young "dude" said customers had until 10/07/09 to refund or exchange. NOPE...Fat lie. I went to return a costume for my child who said fit them funny....( I looked at it very close and the quality was VERY POOR ). Child said they didn't want anything from there. Don't blame ya , I wouldn't either.

Went to get a refund that I was told until the 7th I could do. Today is 10/5/09. NOPE. Exchange only. um....no that's not what was said. Young dude gets the manager because the owner is out. Guy comes up and says he's the manager and what's the issues. I explain the issue to guy. Tells me no refunds. " we are not set up to do that. Our inventory won't allow it, nor will our system" Bull crap!! Any reputable business is set up for that, otherwise you know your running a hack shop. I explained to him I have ran business before and did inventory and accounting. He just looks at me. I said I wanted to speak to who ran the place, the owner. all the sudden he IS the owner! Oh really?!?! even better. I think I will ask my local county and city for records of their business licenses.

Buyer Beware. Crap quality and hack shop.

BTW....I didn't go to WallyWorld because I believe we should support local business's. How ever in this case, I think I'll stick with Target.

two words "comparison shop". This is no rip off. Always check Wallyworld first before you buy anywhere! Better yet, learn to buy a year ahead like I did and you can buy your daughter an outfit for $3.00 . Cinderella does not go out of style. Learn to buy at the end of the season. Heck, when my daughter was small I had Christmas bought at the end of the Christmas before !

There is a reason these kind of places rent out spaces for only two or three months at a shot. They know people buy and do not comparison shop and do not allow for returns so they have people suckered. Well not all of us, some of us went to Wallyworld first.
