Halo Debt Solutions the company charged me for negotiating the debt with credit card companies, but they didn't help me at all. Allen, Texas
I was having problems with paying my credit cards. I lost my job and I didn't have enough money to pay. I went online and checked for services and that's when I found this company who offered settlement services. I started to pay in July 2010, and I did monthly payments until April 2011. This year I started receiving summons from court. The credit card companies were suing me. I called Halo and they said I had to respond to the summons and go to court by myself. The company started making excuses about everything. They said that my husband was not enrolled in the program, but the power of an attorney was signed and notarized by both of us, when shelly told me to fax it to her I did that. Also she mentioned that I didn't send them the letters from creditors. I told her, we are not receiving those letters very often. She claimed that they negotiated the debt with three companies, but the truth was two of those companies are the ones suing me in court. I called Shelly Jones in several ocassions during the month of May and left messages on her phone and she didn't get back to me. One day, Shelly called me and I asked her for my money back, and she said that she was going to send me a form that I needed to sign and send it back to her for my refund. She never did that, all I received was a letter with excuses and services they claimed they did, but in reality I have to call the creditors and make an agreement with them to start paying. The company kept all my money which is more than $1000. What makes me angry is that I haven't been able to find a job during the months I was making the effort to make monthly payment to a company to rip me off how unfair. These type of companies shouldn't exist.
