 Recently I Travelled to Jacksonville, Florida to play in a WPT poker tournament. I made a reservation at Hamptonn inn East Regency on 1021 Hospitality Lane. 904-722-8881... I explained that i would be arriving early around 10:30 and inquired whether early check in would be available as it was a requirement for me to get checked in and shower before going to play 13 long hours of poker. The young lady at the front desk basically accused me of lying when I mentioned I had called ahead about this early check in and told me there would be no rooms until after 3Pm period!!! She was very rude! very unfriendly and very unhelpfula dn unconcerned about the satufactio of the paying customner in front of her. LAter in the evening when I was finnally allowed to check in I was made aware that the $79 rate that the WPT promises was sold out and that I would be paying almost double that at $129.99 a night!!! I was even more shocked when we stepped into a room that the floor was soaking wet in and stunk of mold and mildew. I called down about the smell and the moisture in the floor and the same unpleasant young lady said welcome to Florida!

After calling around and seeing that everyone nearby was booked due to the poker tournament I decided I would just have to deal with it. The morning of the 24th I called down to the front desk to see if I could extend my stay for one more night as I had advanced to the final table of the tournament and was going to need another night. The same young lady said yes no problem. Less than 5 minutes later she was at my door demanding I leave or she was calling the police? When I demanded an explanation she claimed it was a NONSMOKING Hotel and I had been smoking therefore they wanted me out. I proceeded to explain that i dont even smoke and there was no hearing it. She began to yell and holler and threaten me. I asked for her manager and he immediately appeared yelling waving his arms and threatening me as well.

This is the craziest hotel or really a motel is what this is. Neverthess crazy experience. I have had good luck with Hampton Inn and Hilton in general but Im telling you avoid this partucalr location like the plague. The manager Jerry S is a real classy guy. Hollering at me right in front of a room full of people. He acted belligerent and unprofessional and threatened the police on me. I imagine this guy has to threaten the police on people regularly. He gets them so mad with his unprofessional behavior and antics that he deserves to be slapped. He knows this!!! This is why he routinely needs the police. Cause he knows he has an a** kicking coming.

My question is who owns this Particular Hampton Inn? Next.. Why in the world do they have peoiple running there business that treat good customkers like crap?? This is a service business people!! Take my word for it. This is a dumoy trashy place with dumpy trashy employees. The manager Jerry S is particlaurly trashy and unprofessional and if he worked for me he would be in the unemployment line. Jerry S!!! Learn how to treat people sir.

Honestly folks this place is not worthy.

As a hotel employee (not from this hotel, mind you) I can't imagine a manager and hotel staff just kicking you out for no reason. I think there is much, much more to this story for sure.
