People in sales do not work for this company!!! I worked for Ashley Furniture Homestore in Midland, TX for 1 1/2 months before calling it quits. Where do I start? Well, first off, I worked for this company for three days and had my first sale of $1,000 and ended up selling over $120,000 all the while never receiving a check over $500. I was one of their top sales consultants with several $20,000 weeks and a week of selling $30,500. Basically, what happens with this company is you get paid on your commissions when your furniture gets delivered. The problem with this is it takes 2-6 weeks to get delivered so it takes about a month and a half to start making any money. I was okay with this, but the problem is that they never paid me the hours I worked of minimum wage (required by law) and they didn't pay me my commissions either when the furniture got delivered, not to mention the slave driving mentality of the owners so I quit! Anyways, according to the contract which they wrote I am entitled to 20 days of delivered sales which I never received, so I went into the store in order to request the wages that were owed and had the cops called on me and was told to leave the store by the general manager named Damien!!! Don't let this guy fool you he talks real nice with his Argentenin accent and ability to speak fluent spanish, but believe you me there is a reason his name is Damien!! So after all of this, come to find out that they had written down that they had terminated when I had told Jorge, the finance manager and Damien clearly that I was quitting so they didn't have to pay me my commissions!!! What a bunch of scam artists!!! Any professional sales person that is not a drug dealer or some sort of low level ex-convict scam artist or drug addict (these are the people you will be working with) should avoid this sucker money pit of a rat hole at all costs!!! Do not work with these people, they are snakes in disguise!!!

I worked at the store in Lubbock and they screw over their salespeople pretty badly but don't take my word for it.. According to the department of labor they have been changing time cards in order to avoid paying overtime. If you were an employee expect a paycheck. Anyone who believes Mrs Choi cares about her employees is someone who doesn't have to work with her every day. She only cares about her situation. If you work for her, you will get to know her and your co workers better than you know your own children, because you will hardly ever see them.nothing is good enough for her and she sets unreasonable time limits for everything. The work is VERY underpaid, no bonuses, no raises, no overtime. I have heard from numerous sales people stories that back up the original poster.

I have also worked for Aggie Choi for over a year and she cares about her employees, goes the extra mile to make you feel important and cared about. This couple, Richard and Aggie Choi, have a heart for their community, their customers and their employees.

Sales people get paid off sales delivered, yes this can take up to a month to happen, this is not a secret when they are hired. This is a percentage of the sale. If enough commission isn't made they will get paid part commission and the rest will be made up of an hourly pay.

If an employee doesn't clock in and out for each shift it is possible that their paycheck may have been off (due to their own irresponsibility) but all it takes is a talk with a manager and this is easily resolved.

If an employee quits they will not receive pay on anything delivered past their date of termination and will receive their hourly pay.

In my 13 years of working I have never felt so at home in a company, with owners, that treat you like family. I believe that I will work for Mrs. Choi until I can't work anymore. This is a job where you want to go to work, you want to be around the people you work with and because of that they have hundreds of employees that have worked for them for many years! Over 500 employees and they still make a point to say hello and remember your name.

I have worked for Aggie Choi for three years. This is absolutely not true...she treats her employees with a tremendous amount of respect and concern. Everything is always done in a honest manner complying with all labor laws. I know for a fact the company strives to do the right thing and takes efforts to achieve this goal.
