Hannity Homes, LLC Delayed work on my home. After 125 days of receiving draws to complete my 1,000 sq. ft. house, it is only 50% complete. Ocala Florida
I contracted with Steve Foster of Hannity Homes LLC on May 23, 2008 to build a 1,000 sq. ft. house. Hannity Homes did not pour the slab until July, 2008.
He has continued to delay completing my house at the same time he has taken draws. I have paid him over 90% of the money he is due to complete my house. Only 50% of my house has been completed.
He continues to give excuses and lies. I am afraid that my house will not be completed. This is September 27, 2008.

This is how Hannity Homes operates. Kim Adams will call you and tell you he got rid of sub A because they were horrible. You will meet with Ken and Kim Adams and they will negotiate pricing with you and tell you they work only on Construction draws and you will be paid 30 days after you start a job. You will then meet suit wearing, smiling Steve Foster, so you think that everything is great. They will give you 4-5 jobs that have been sitting due to "lousy sub" A. You will get 1-2 jobs. 30 days will pass and you won't have a check. You wait 5 days and call, not wanting to pester anyone. You are told that the check is going out next week. You wait 7 days checking the mail and no check comes. You call and the check is in the mail. You wait 3 days and call, and they have a check for you in Ocala at the office. You pick up the check and now 2 more checks are due. They tell you next week they will pay you. You call the next week and they say they didn't receive your invoice. You speak with Steve Foster and he tells you he will check into it. He calls you back and tells you he had to let go of his lousy accountant and to give him a few days, but please keep working. Don't let the choo choo train quit running. He doesn't tell you he is going to run you over with the train. Feeling that smiling, suit wearing,Grand fatherly Steve is not going to leave you holding the bag, you do a few more jobs and now you are into them for 70k. You call Steve and demand a meeting. You meet with Steve and now he can pay you one per week but he wants you to do one per week to keep his draws going. If you quit, it is your fault he can't get draws, all the while he talks about the Choo Choo, not having horns, cliches up the a*s. He acts like you are ignorant and begs you not to lien them. You finally quit and he tells sub c that you are lousy. The kicker is that Kim calls you 6 months later and tells you he has 5 houses for you. He is your best buddy. I wonder what happened to sub c?
These guys get their draws 3 days after you finish your work and don't pay you with the Draw. Stay away from Adams and Foster. Any one with that last name at Hannity is a liar. Steve Foster-Here is a cliche for you. You can put syrup on a turd but it won't taste like pan cakes. You can't judge a book by its cover.

TO find a solution to you construction problem with hannity, steve foster, simply get the back issues of The Papermint magazine. in most of their adds they promise to have your home completed within 90 days after the slab is poured, but in their contract they hide they have one year to build, the county only gives one year on open permits. I would be VERY careful also at the end of your loan, at modification, look out for AD-ONS, extra fill dirt, waste disposal and a few other things, this is an old trick that kevin adams brought with him from advanced homes when he worked there, I wish you the best of luck with them.....

First of all it takes at least a month for permitting You closed on May 23rd and we poured the slab in July, which means that your plans were in permitting during that time. Permitting is something that we have no control over. Second, you signed the draw schedule which is on the contract supplying us with 90% of the contract price at drywall completion. Third, we have up to one year to complete your home per contract. Your home has only been under construction for four months and is very near completion.

So What Does The Contract Say?

IF you have paid him 90% of the money he is due, WHY is ONLY 50% of the house completed? IF you HAVE paid him 90%, 90% of the house SHOULD have been completed by now. THAT'S the way it is suppose to work. 20% when the slab is poured, 20% when the framing is completed and so on. WHY would you give him extra money up front? Lord, he's already got 90%, why bother with the rest?
