Happy Valley Newfoundland - Karen Kellar We bought our male Landseer from Karen Kellar at Happyvalley Newfoundlands, on Feb. 4th 2023; $3500.00 plus $1000.00 for breeding rights. She did not inform us that she had inbred her dogs when we purchaced him, and as the results of this he has genetic defects. By the time he was six months old he was diagnosed with 2 torn ACL's because of genetics (per 2 licensend Vets). Our dog has been in so much pain since he was very small. We wrote her a letter and sent her vet all the reports from our vet, and she refused to re-emburse us. I explained that all we wanted, was the money back to pay for his up-coming surgery (the surgery was quoted at over $10,000.00...not including medications, re-hab, etc.) and to cover all his pain meds that he has been on since we have discovered this. She did offer another dog, but we don't want any more of her dogs. We've now found other reviews saying the same thing about her dogs with genetic defects. In our opinion, she is running nothing other than a puppy mill! The beautiful puppy that came into our lives is now a part of our family, and he is loved dearly. To see him have to live like this breaks our hearts. We love our boy and it kills us to see him in so much pain.
