A check in my name for $2,980.00 was sent to me along with a letter stating I won a sweepstakes for $47,000.00 through Reader's Digest, Publisher's Clearing House, Online Sweepstakes, or internet games. I was to contact Patricia Anderson and give my claim #. The check appeared to be legal, it has Morgan Stanley typed on it in big bold letters.

Of course nothing in life is free and internet scamming is on the rise. What caused me to investigate is that the message on the phone number states "there is no more room to record new messages". After repeated tries, I knew something was not right. Not only that but the letter says that the check "covers both the administrative payment and clearance fees of your winnings". I found that puzzling.

So I did a internet search and behold the first thing that appeared was Rip-off. I am going to send the check to Morgan Stanley, perhaps they can take legal action against these people. If these checks are deposited and then bounce, a person could suffer great financial difficulities. I am also going to send the rip-off reports that I found to Harborside to let them know this is one they did not scam.
