This company is a total scam. I had discussed ordering a POS system for my business. the salesman came to my facility and had me filled out an application to see i was going to get approved. A week later i was informed that i was approved for the sytem. I had requested a demo to make sure that this sytem is going to work for me and upon demonstration i realised that this is not what i wanted. I then cancelled the order.

A month later i realised that this company was withdrawing a montly fee from my bank account. i immediatley contacted their customer service and let them know that there must be an error. i never got any system from them and also never received any service from them. i was told that i had signed the application and i am obligated to pay the fees even if they never gave me a system or perform any services for me.

i contacted my bank and stopped the withdrawals from this company. Now they are serving me letters for collection indicating that i had personally guaranteed the fees.

This is fraud !! This company needs to be investigated and close the doors. i have noticed that they are many people like myself in the same predicament with Harbortouch. We need to stop these criminals now so that they cannot continue scamming the public.

First off, let me make a few explanations.

1.  All Harbortouch deals are done through independent contractors (1099) sales reps.  The way the sales rep sold your account is not how it is supposed to be.  A merchant doesn't sign up to get a demo.  The application you signed is the "application" to place your order and move forward.  The demos & sales cycle should have been done before you even signed on the dotted line.  That part is clearly wrong on the agent's end and not the corporate office.  They do not have control over their outside agents, they can only monitor them the best they can.  Please know they have hundreds of agents all over the US and thousands of happy clients with those agents.  Obviously, no way to eliminate any and all bad apples (agents) forever.

2.  When a merchant orders a POS and if they cancel their POS order, they must also make sure the merchant account is closed.  The POS charges don't start until the POS is installed.  However, the bank does start charging for the merchant account upon approval.  So if you didn't close your merchant account, then those fees would start to hit your account.  Harbortouch can't stop or delay those charges like the POS fees as it isn’t handle by them.  They can only refund after the fact since they come from the sponsoring bank.

Assuming this is the whole and complete side of the story, do I believe Harbortouch should take care of those charges and refund you, Yes.  Will they, Yes.  You may just need to stay on top of them.  Don't give up until you are refunded and everything will be fine.
