Hardin Honda run by con artists!!!
I recently began a lease on a 2001 Honda Civic from Hardin Honda in Anaheim. Now, I admit, I was fresh meat for the sales men because I am a young woman who has never bought a car by myself before. I feel like I had a sign on my forehead that said Take advantage of me please! Anyways, by the time I left the dealer I had no clue about what I had gotten myself into. I ended up with a five year lease on a Civic paying almost 30,000 dollars for a 15,000 dollar automobile. They also tacked on another 1800 dollars for a service contract that I was told would only cost me an extra dollar a month.
On the back of the lease it is stated that I may cancel the service contract at anytime if I so desire. When I had realized what I was actually being charged I asked that the service contract be removed. The dealer said that they could not do that despite of what their contract said. They basically were in breach of contract.
I also recently found out that they legally were supposed to give me the MSRP window sticker for the car, and they somehow forgot to do this also. It just so happens that that little lapse in memory will end up costing them some money in fines when I report their illegal mishap. They also managed to send me a release of liability on the car that I just leased instead of the car I traded in!!!
How stupid and mean can people be?!! I dont know what to do. I know that I got taken for a large amount of money and I want to do something about it, but I dont know what. So for now all I can do is strongly recommend staying away from Hardin Honda in Anaheim, California
