I had my 2012 Ford Focus towed into this dealership, Harold Ford located off of Howe Avenue, Sacramento. I was too lazy to follow the tow truck plus it's a dealership and I had some sort of trust compared to a normal mechanics shop. Nonetheless, two hours later after they recieved it, Jim, on of the service reps informed me of a total cost of $1300, parts and labor and falsly informed me that if he ordered the part, I was obligated to pay for the entire part if I chose to not have them do the work. I knew this was false, but decided to go ahead. After 30 minutes, it bugged me, so I called Elk Grove Ford dealership and found out the labor alone according to the books was only $180 vs $400 overcharge from Harold Ford. The part alone was penny for penny around $575.00

I immediately emailed Jim to stop and cease working on my car no more than one hour after he informed me of the price quote. I then left a lengthy message on the Service Manager's voicemail, Mark, but did not recieve a call back until the next day, although, he was at that facility that day according to the front gal when you call into the facility. Jim then called me wondering why I wanted to stop any work, I informed him of my reserach findings and questioned him sternly as to why was he overcharging me $400 for the exact same labor on the exact same part? Within ten minutes, he requoted me $1000 plus $100 for core charge because I demanded to have all parts returned to me so that i can have it retested to make sure this was the part needed to have my car run good.

Then the next day, Mark the svc mgr, called me and tried to overpower me on the telephone and belittle me, then I sternly asked him if we needed to have a meeting that day with his General Manager and go over line by line item of charges and told him all details about my reseach of overcharge. Mark then got it down to $900 plus $100 core charge for a grand total of $1095.00. He made it appear that he was doing me a favor, but he didn't because that was the price Elk Grove would do the job for. I was willing to let it go, but after paying in cash on February 24, 2018, Mark drove the car near the casheir's trailer as a good gesture, appologize not so genuine, but again, willing to let it all go now tht i had my car back. Then......then........then I couldn't believe what I seen thru the rear view mirror.......a huge dried up bird s***!!! THat did it! I calmed myseld down, went to my college class and on the way, called the General Manager and actually spoke to him directly informing him calmly that I was going to expose his facility of a potential major rip off and that they "s******" on my car, in essense, s****** on me as most people, like myself, love their car as it is dependable to bring us to school, church, the store, everywhere and is a direct reflection of my persona. I made sure I mentioned I was nto threatening, rather promissing I will be using all social media to expose them. So, now you have been warned that if you have not bought a vehicle from them, they will try to rip you off and "s***" on your vehicle.
