I have been A Diamond Card holder at Harrah's for ten years, and my wife for about 7 years. The tier score to obtain this was 10,000 points, this year it went up to 11,000. We both obtained this. According to their web sight one point is issued for each $10.00 spent. One of the benefits of membership was access to The Diamond Club, which is the only benefit of any value. Between us we have almost 50,000 points.

We both enjoyed this very much( even though the quality has dropped). We live nearby and used it frequently. Sometimes atmittedly we only spent a few dollars, other times we spent much more depending on our finances. Recently I received a letter from Harrah's Marketing advising that in the future I would need $10.oo in comps to enter the club. This was never done before, and no warning was given. This is not a general policy as most people are still granted admission. I among others were singled out.

If I had known at the beginning of the year that this was going to be Harrah's new policy, I would not have played at that establishment. It is probably the worst playing casino in the city. It is my opinion that this borders on criminal theft, or receiving money under false pretenses, a lot of money. The only reason we played there was to keep our diamond status for the purpose of going to the club. Once we were at Harrah's we played there, We will not play in a Harrah's property again.

I feel that the money obtained by Harrah's through this deception should be refunded to all parties involved. At no point does Harrah's state a minimum amount of play required. Since I have doubled the required amount of points for the year, I think my play is adequate

I was a little confused when I read this. At one time, the Diamond Lounge was free for a Diamond Member and a guess. Now, they charge $10.00 in comps to get in.  What seems to be the problem.  It's not like it is $10.00 in cash out of your pocket. If you played almost 50,000 points between the two cards, I am sure that you have the comps to pay the $10.00.  The Borgata has always charged $10.00 for their Amphora Lounge which is open to Black Label Card Holders. Stop whinning.  I am sure that the Diamond Lounge (free food and free drinks) was not the only reason you played 10,000 points.

You say that there was no warning about the change and yet you say you got a letter telling you about this change. Seems you're not consistent. By the way, all companies reserve the right to change the qualifications/benefits of any 'club' that they provide, i.e. frequent flyer miles; hotel clubs; etc. You should be happy they let you know through a letter and not when you were trying to enter the area. No ripoff, just not meeting the new qualifications.
