On Sunday August 23, 2015 I discovered an unauthorized transaction made by a Nigerian travel agency on my Citibank checking account. Who does business in Nigeria. They have a terrible reputation for ripping people off. A red flag should have definitely went up. I immediately contacted Citibank customer service which was a terrible nightmare. I had to make no less than 10 calls and received cold, non concerning and very unprofessional service. At the end of the day I was told that it would take 10 days for the bank to replace my funds. This is not acceptable when this is a clear cut case of fraud committed on my account. I did not authorize the bank to allow some crooks named Waka Now to debit my account for $690.00. So why should I be inconvenienced. I trusted Citibank. I need my money immediately replaced. I can't tell my creditors and family that the bank allowed my account to hacked. It's not fair. The next day I took it a step further and went directly to the branch. I spoke to racist, cold, condescending, unprofessional manager named Harriet Swable. She was so uncaring till she did even take the time to at least pull up my account. She just looked at my notes and went off of the information which I had gathered over the previous 2 days. She saw that from my notes that I had filed a dispute, handed my notes back to me and said that's it we are not giving you your money back. And that's it. What a cold and callous manner of solving a problem . It's funny because I had a similar problem the week before and they replaced the funds the same day. There is no consistency in their protocol. They just tell you any BS and you are supposed to except it. I feel as though I was treated unfairly by Citibank. From the so called manager Harriet Swable down to the low level customer service representatives. I want my money replaced immediately as well as an apology from Citibank immediately.
