HARRY PAYTON, LISA BARQUIST PAYTON AND ASSOCIATES PADDED BILL, SAW ME AS A TARGET - BASICALLY LOST CASE AND COST ME THOUSANDS MIAMI, Florida
I took my case to Harry Payton, he asked me for a retainer.
I gave him $10,000 he said he would put it in an escrow account.
This was the easiest case in the world.
Next thing you know he sends me a bill for $22,000 for "research" into the case?
He does NO discovery on this case-just research...
Then when I start asking questions about the case, he and Lisa Barquist say not to worry, and not to take the deal the opposition was offering. When I aske why not, Barquist said there may be a misunderstanding. Next thing you know the bill is now OVER $40,000.
I then ask him to explain his bill, and he immediately starts a rant and rave.
He lost the case, AND sued me for the remainder of his ILLEGAL bill.
The good news he is now being investigated at the federal level since he sent a padded bill in the mail-which apparently is mail fraud.
