No recollection of receiving Premium Statement for homeowners bill. Received Cancellatin Notice and today paying bills realized date lapsed for payment to prevent cancellation of policy. Hartford took my money for 5 years. No claims ever made to this company or any others regarding homeowners. It cancelled 12 days ago and today spoke with an underwriter who made her decision to not reinstate the policy based on "it cancelled."

I was treated very rudely and the underwriter definately was on a power trip. There wasn't a supervisor available during the time she spoke with me supposedly and when I called back, another rep said his supervisor stepped away, but within 48 hours they would get back to me. I refused that as homeowners insurance is one that should be kept up therefore I am forced to seek other companies.

I want others to be aware that because you are an AARP member doesn't mean you get better treatment, but they are glad to take your money if they choose too, just like I should be glad to bring my money where I choose too as well. Aarp promotes them to their membership crowd of millions so perhaps this is their way of getting too big for their "britches." This was a shocking first time experience and wanted others to think twice before having such an experience you never know will come up, but Hartford surely pulled one off on me today.

Think twice before thinking Hartford or an AARP member will get great treatment since AARP recommends this company. Happily saved from further experiences if they ever occur with dealing with Hartford. Maybe this is typical of insurance companies, but my experience has not been the case. Say no to Hartford and win your right to pay a company who appreciates your hard earned buck.
