I took my 2002 Dodge Dakota Truck into Hartzheim Dodge a while back because my check engine light came on. They had to have me leave it so they could do a diagnostic on the problem. The customer service adviser called me and told me that it was a vapor leak in a hose. I asked if it was under warranty and he said no as it was a hose. I told them to replace the hose. I paid almost $200.00 for the repair. I picked up the truck and within a matter of minutes the check engine light came on. I didn't have time to take it back in right away so I took it back on a Saturday. The Customer servise adviser had a technician come out and hook up a computer on it. He reset the computer on the truck and the check engine light came back on right away. He couldn't find the problem. He came up with an idea and told me to go into the parts department and buy a gas cap. I did this and he installed the new gas cap. He reset the computer on the truck and the check engine light went off and never came back on. Rather Suspious if your ask me.
I think I got ripped off for $200.00 on a repair that probably would have only cost a gas cap plus a half hour of labor. I have had other dealings with them that I am kind of suspious also. More on other reports.
