My cat had an outbreak of fleas.  I went to my local PetCo to buy a flea control product for my 1 year old male cat (12 pounds).  I bought "Hartz UltraGuard Pro Flea and Tick Drops".  I followed the directions carefully.  It was supposed to be safe for cats 5 pounds and over and cats over 12 weeks old.

Within an hour my cat became lethargic, when he was usually very playful.  I because disturbed that I had poisoned him.  I gave him a bath trying to wash off the drops, but it did not work. He became limp and did not eat for several days.  I just held him in my lap (something he would not usually allow me to do) hoping and praying that he would make it through without damage.  Thank goodness he was a healthy large male or I think I would have lost him!  He is my companion pet that I have a prescription for.  He really does keep my spirits up.

I then began investigating this product and found it was very toxic to cats.  I could not believe that this product would be allowed on the market with such a horrible reputation.  I then began buying Frontline in a bottle over the internet.  It is easy to measure in a syringe and apply to your cat or dog according to the instructions.  I have never had any problem with adverse reactions with Frontline!
