Dave Haskit had come to my salon to give an estimate for my insurance company.. had me sign a form he said was "required" by the isurance company to submit a bid but lied and had me sign a "work authorization".

when i told him i was going to use a different contractor he said i owed him 20% of his bid or he would sue me.

He did not start the job when promised he did not order flooring/paint/wallpaper on time, when i complained about it he screamed/yelled and hung up on me. told me to simply file a "lost wages claim" against MY insurance company.

His crew was sloppy, left their trash for days in front of the salon, didn't finish the job, lost hardware, broke additional items, didn't strap the water heater down and caused additional flooding to the salon and refused to repair it or take responsibility for it.

He walked off the job without completing the work correctly and refused to finish.. lied to the state board that he HAD. He then sued ME for "breach of contract" because i had hired another company to do the flooring so that i wouldn't have to have my salon closed for ANOTHER month.

He has seven pages of lawsuits filed at the municipal court.. mostly AGAINST him.. some frivilous ones HE filed. He has changed his company name at least Six times, been removed from the BBB for too many complaints.

The "rebuttal" to my report was filled with inaccurate statements....let me help. Straight Edge flooring was brought onto the project when Haskit Construction was already two weeks behind their promised completion date. The flooring had not even been ordered and I had clients and stylists who could NOT go any longer without losing money AND clientele. Straight Edge (lic.#731818) IS licensed and bonded.

The valve was NOT the reason the floor flooded. Haskit's contracted painters returned to clean their brushes..the water had been shut off because the pedicure chair had been removed to put the flooring in...painters turned on the main valve to wash their brushes and flooded out the salon.

Haskit was paid for the work that had been done...he tried to sue for 11,000, then 7,000 then settled for 3,300...suing for "breach of contract" because he didn't put in my flooring. He has seven pages of law suits filed both

AGAINST and frivolous lawsuits HE has filed...two seperate attorneys contacted me after MY incident with him asking me to make a statement for THEIR clients. One lawsuit already was won against him by Jack Lieb for his deceiptful contract practices.

The BBB has removed him due to "failure to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints on file with the BBB...9 within 36 months.

Crooked Customer Caught !!

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Dvora hired Haskit Construction to negotiate a mold/water damage insurance claim and complete the repairs. We successfully negotiated a larger insurance settlement than she expected (ie: new flooring, complete salon painting, etc).

As the work progressed she announced that she wanted to hire her own flooring contractor, which she did. Unfortunately for her she hired an "unlicensed" contractor. This contractor failed to properly reinstall a water valve and ultimately her salon flooded again.

Dvora refused to pay Haskit Construction the balance that was owed, attemepting to blame Haskit for work her "unlicensed" contractor completed. As is our right as a licensed contractor we filed the appropriate Lien and filed suit. At present our attorney's have negotiated a settlement where by Dvora will be paying Haskit Construction.

The contractor's license board did investigate this matter and sided with Haskit Construction. I would be happy to discuss this situation with anyone who inquires.
Thank you.
