Hastings Asphalt Services They want payment regardless! Harvard Illinois
Our home driveway had several minor; as well as a few larger more noticeable cracks in the asphalt, nothing out of the ordinary considering we live in Northern Illinois. We did as every other American homeowner does and contacted two or three sealcoating companies to give us estimates on filling the cracks and sealcoating our drive, including Hastings Asphalt Services.
Please note; We did not go with the lowest bidder we chose to go with the middle bid.
The owner of Hastings himself came to our home and recommended a "hot applied crack fill" for our "residential" driveway and stated that this would be the only way to get the best results and a better looking driveway. What he failed to state to my wife and I is that this "hot applied crack fill" does not and will not dry! So..throughout this summer we have had to continuously clean the material/tar from the "hot crack fill" that gets tracked from our kids feet, the dogs paws etc. to the inside of our home.
Our home driveway still looks terrible or in other words, looks like a back country road that has been patched so many times that even the highway dept would not recongnize! The way this company has tried to resolve the problem is to not only harass us with calls at home but also at my place place of employment; constantly looking for thier money while at the same time they send thier "lackey's' out to make it worse. Now, they have sicked thier goons "collection agency" on our family for payment for a lousy job done. My wife and I have even offered to pay them the $400.00 of the total bill of $695.00 for the sealcoating part of the job.
Hastings states it is not thier problem anymore and we will have to take it up with the collection agency.
