This german shepherd breeder charges alot of money for their so called top dogs. They claim their dogs are the number one in the U.S. and Germany, yet they don't back it up with any official papers. They claim to have top health and intelligent dogs but really they have medical problems and physical flaws. Our two dogs that we purchased have physical flaws that the breeder ommited even though she knew about it. They also force a dog on you when you choose to buy one. They simply take your money, give you any dog they choose, and send you away. That is pretty much the last time you will see them. This breeder is impossible to reach if you need any help at all.

Once they cash your check for the dog, you'll never reach them, even if you try to show up at the kennel. The breeder is rude and does not help you at all unless you have excessive money to offer her. Their dogs do not have a lifetime guarantee, and if you want any guarantee at all, you have to purchase their products. All this breeder cares about is making money. If you want a quality german shepherd and a breeder that cares about you and the dog, do not purchase a dog from Haus Juris! They will rip you off completely!

Look for a breeder that promises to be there for you no matter what the issue is with your dog. This breeder could care less if your dog fell apart as long as she gets paid for the dog. This is a selfish breeder that no one should give business to.

Haus Juris is the Best

After searching for more than a year we decided to buy a puppy from Haus Juris German Shepherds. In December of 2011 my wife and I drove up to Nokesville, VA from Florida to make our pick. In the previous complaint about Haus Juris it was stated that you don't get to pick your puppy which is untrue. Megan Judge will let you have any puppy you want but she only shows you puppies that fit the lifestyle you have described to her. For example if you want a dog to train for Schutzhund she will show you the puppies that are, in her opinion, best qualified for that type of training. If you want a house pet that puppy would show different characteristics. Megan also takes a lot of time with the prospective parents so she can learn even more so you get the puppy that will fit your lifestyle. My wife and I for example were looking for an easy going temperament that would fit nicely when playing with our grandchildren and guests in our home.

Well our puppy is 7 months old now and he loves people just as we had wanted. He's perfectly structured, drop dead gorgeous and the sweetest boy we have ever had. He has the movement of a champion, probably because of her breeding standards, and the look to go with it. He's easy to train and loves doing everything we put in front of him.

Megan Judge also knows what supplies you will need to make your life with a puppy more pleasant as well. She carries a full line of products and though I was hesitant to buy any at first, and I bought most of what she recommended, I don't regret getting any of it. She strongly suggested a Play Pen. Did I want it at first NO but we were glad we got it upon arriving home.

To sum up Megan Judge she is an extraordinary breeder with a love of the dog and the knowledge to only breed the best. All of her dogs are Breed Surveyed and of the highest German Standards. She is highly respected not only in the USA but in Germany and Austria as well. Are her dogs expensive? Compared to some breeders she may be but you get what you pay for and we don't regret any part of the experience at Haus Juris German Shepherds.

Nice place, but after you purchase your dog , GOOD LUCK getting a hold of anyone on the phone or email. Yes it did take a long time for our paperwork to come in from Europe, but it did eventually...

My problem is they NEVER RETURN YOUR PHONE CALLS. This has no excuse. I am talking weeks of calling, and left messages etc. VERY ODD.

We love our dog we got from there, even though his ears are not erect... which is also odd to me since he is of a show blood line.. since he is a large boned , long haired Shepherd we are thinking it might just take longer. We have given him plenty of chews, trimmed his long hair and even glued/taped and still no shepherd ears.. which might hurt out chances of breeding.. but regardless we still love him just as much..

but I am a bit dissapointed of the follow through with this breeder... They have a great place, beautiful dogs, and seem to be knowledgable.. but if they continue to not return phone calls and take care of their clients then people will NOT come back and spread the word...

Good luck!

I have found Megan Judge to be the most helpful and passionate German Shepherd breeder ever. She is honest, fair and knowledgable about what she does. She provides an extensive education from beginning to end to any GSD owner willing to learn! I would highly recommend Megan to anyone wanting a smart, well tempered, and beautiful German Shepherd!

Owner is nasty

I purchased my GSD puppy from Megan Judge about 9 months ago, very nice prior to us placing the deposit.  She stated she paid 100,000 for Orus and is waiting on his paperwork which should take about 3-4 months (this was back in June she stated this).  We researched other places within a short radius from our home (never will do that again!!), also if someone is going to pay 2500 for a GSD you should be getting a life time on the hips and elbow, health guarantee (lesson 2) also Megan charges 2500 across the board whether your dog is only good for just a pet, schuzthund prospect, showing prospect, (lesson 3), she makes you take a MANDATORY $60 class which you could basically get all that info from books you would have already researched about puppies, training, GSD(RED FLAG).  For her charging 2500, that should have been part of her service.  She is a salesman and will jam her products down your throat and make you feel so stupid in front of others.  I was so tempted to just let her keep my $500 the day I went to pick up the dog and run, but with my kids there, I just figured, a lessoned learned and let me share this with others.  The poor guy in front of me checking out, she made him and yes I said, made him buy an additional 700.00 worth of items on top of the cost of the class and dog itself.  Her kennel looks clean and she is active with her dogs BUT she is about money money money and is nasty. Called several times about our dog papers too and get a different answer everytime. Megan said on two occasions I spoke with her,"Well we can't tell the people in Europe to make their process faster because you want your papers, we will get them whenever they give it to us."  Honestly, our dog at 9 months shows not health problems yet, too soon to tell for the hips but even if my dog comes out with great health, I think there are other breeders out there to be looked at.  Will NOT goto Megan ever again and will be willingly to drive a little farther to open up my options next time.  It seems like some of us have hit it on the head with her way of doing business, we all bought from her at different times, 7 years ago, 4 years ago, 8 and 9 months ago and everything is consistent with Megan, not a very nice person and honestly the papers are a big deal, can't do anything with our dog also.  She says she bought Orus but different owners are listed under his name.  Healthly dogs are not, I would interview other breeders and be willingly to drive alittle ways. Thank you.

I wanted to comment on Lauren's experience with Haus Juris, only to say that I purchased a puppy from Haus Juris almost seven years ago, and I haven't had any health issues with my b***h (as far as bred-in issues).  I think Megan's dogs are top quality, and I never had any problems getting pedigree information on the sire and dam of my puppy.  I will concede that Megan does not have a particularly "warm and fuzzy" personality.  She can be very impatient and borderline rude.  But I would defend the quality of her dogs, if not her bedside manner.  I'm sorry Lauren's experience was so negative.  Although I'm not crazy about Megan as a person, I do plan on getting my next GSD puppy (if I do a breeder for my next one) from Haus Juris.  I hope my experience was the rule and that Lauren's was the exception.
