Complaint Review: Hawaii Job Corps

  Greetings,

So far i been in the Hawaii Job Corps which is located on Maui for 2 months and i have been told different before entering into the program staff had told me how it was a great program and they had mentioned that we will not worry anymore about finance because supposedly the program were gonna pay us every other week, not at all did they mention the amount, they avoided that question. So now that i am actually in the program i had seen nothing but the opposite of what they had said, we are being paid only $23 every other week, theres staff that isn't equal, always using profanity towards us, being really careless.

Its the weekend i have no family and friends here on Maui i am Originally from Oahu, anyways being that job corps has these rules that us trainees need to abide by, such as 0 tolerence of Violence & Drugs. Me and a few other trainees went out to have a little more than a few. we got wasted and we had no home to go to at the end of the night so we decided we should just go back on center and go to bed. We had hitched a ride and this wonderful lady had took us to our destination. Being unaware of what the other trainee was doing i never took notice that the other trainee had sneaked the bag on campus with the Alcohol. So we had to report to security to let him know we are returning to campus, he than said he was going to test us but he had changed his mind he exchanged a few laughs with us, he knew exactly that we were under the influence but he had let us go, so i would like to point out that part because we The trainees and the security had broken the rules of job corps. how did us trainees break the rule? we were under the influence and we weren't suppose to return on campus until we are sober. How did the security break the rule? he wasn't doing his job correctly he was suppose to search us and test us because it was obvious that we were under the influence you could just smell the alcohol lingering in that area.

  So we got away with that we were walking to the field to smoke a cigarette the other trainee had brought the bag out of the bush and carried it to us, trainee than brought the bottle of alcohol out and started drinking it. shortly two of the trainees had left us to go to bed so there was only 2 of us on the field, as we were sitting there we heard a man yelling across the field, it was the same security that we had reported to. He had reached us, stood in front of us 2 and called for back up he had also mentioned something about "he gave us a chance earlier so now he really have to do his job". so 2 more gentlemens had arrived on foot at our location they had confesgated the back pack and took us to the security room.

Finally they had searched the bag and found the bottle, they had tested the both of us and we had failed the test. they had asked us who owned the bag so i was honest and told them its my bag i feel that even if i didn't bring it on i am still guilty by association i am guilty because i knew the consequences so i will not complain about the outcome because i took action in the first place. We all make mistakes and i'm not asking for mercy the world will not end sometimes we never learn until its too late and thats exactly what had happened to me.
