DO NOT RENT AT HAWTHORNE GROVES in ORLANDO, FL. This place is a hell hole. They don't use real keys, they use hotel keys and the service staff have "repairs" for your apartment monthly. Magically it is still broken and your stuff is missing too. The office does nothing. They also grant access to your apartment without your knowledge or permission on random checks for fire extinguishers and forget to tell you to leave them outside for fire inspection. This is just an excuse to violate your rights and check on your apartment. Then when they entered and my dog barked at them, they said I had a vicious animal when my dog was just protecting my apartment from intruders.
They called animal control and I had to explain what happened when they entered my apartment without permission. I got my dog out the next day from animal control and moved out and they had the audacity to try to charge me fees for not sticking to my lease requirements. I fought it with a lawyer and now am going after greystar their property manager. This place is awful.
The property manager is some idiotic twit named Jessica Spencer who doesn't know her a$$ from her elbow and she is as fake, ugly, and nasty as they come. She accused me of having a vicious dog in my unit and my little beagle wouldn't hurt a fly. All he did was protect our home from what he thought were , and truly are intruders as they had no right to enter like that. They are money hungry savages at this place and are letting anyone in who pays because they are going downhill so fast, it hurts! DO NOT LEASE HERE. They discriminate against dogs and their owners and do not follow the law when it comes to tenant rights.
I am still out over $1,000 to get my dog back and in moving expenses but I have learned my lesson. Stay away, they are bad news at Hawthorne Groves in Orlando, FL. Don't believe the smoke and mirros of their demo model and the clubhouse , it is the only thing they take care of to rope in suckers like me and my poor dog, but never again!
