Complaint Review: Haynes Furniture Company

Haynes Furniture Company Of Richmond, ripoff Order a sofa and had a chair delivered. Haynes refuse to bring the sofa out the same day. ripoff rude inconvience sorry does not fix the problem! Richmond Virginia

My daughter, her roommate and myself went to Haynes to buy a sofa for their new apartment. With the help of one of the salesmen we were able to select a sofa that was on sale. After making the necessary arangements (payments and delivery date)we thought that everything was fine.

When the time came for the delivery, they delivered a chair instead. The salesman had ordered a chair instead of the sofa. The store was contacted and they had a sofa in stock but they said that they could not deliver it until Wednesday. We explain to them that they need a sofa that day. We had to go over to Haynes to pick up the sofa and we talk to the salesman and the Asst. Gen. Manager Mr. Barry Wimmer who was very rude to us. He said the only thing he could do was to give us the delivery fee back or refund our money which will take up to three weeks in the mail.

I told him that they messed up not us and they inconvience us and they should give us a discount on the sofa. He said that he couldn't do that because that was not company policy. He didn't say he was sorry for the mix up or anything. He just kept saying that his salesman made a mistake. I will never shop in Haynes again and I will tell my family and my friends about my experinece with Haynes Furniture Company of Richmond, VA. and advise them not to shop there either.

Someone made a mistake. I know you have never made one. You bought from a major company that has hundreds of deliveries a day and someone made a single mistake. You bought from them due to price and selection.

They are the best in the business and there are none better in the entire region and they are better than many of the furniture stores in the US. Go to Sears, Penneys or any other store in the US and you will receive the same fair and courtous service. They offered you a refund and this is all they can and should do.

Look at the line in your header, "they refused to bring a sofa out the same day." They do not have trucks just sitting around waiting to deliver one sofa. If you ever own a "profitable" company you would fully understand, this is all anyone can do.

I would like to thank you for posting your experience, Edna. I had heard bad things about Haynes from some other people in this area (I am a Richmonder also) but thought I'd look them up on the web to see what products they carried to see if it would be worth my time to go in. I was looking for a coffee table/side table set for my great room. The first thing the search engine pulled up was...guess what...this website! Needless to say, I found all I need to know about this place from this site! I am shocked at the complaints I read, especially regarding the delivery service! As competitive as the furniture business is here in Richmond, I don't see how these people have stayed in business for so long!Well, you saved me a trip and probably a lot of frustration! I ended up going to (((REDACTED))).
