I've been a subscriber to Popular Mechanics for several years, but recently Hearst Corporation has been sending threatening letters that say I owe them for an automatically renewed subscription. I bought a three year subscription last year so my subscription isn't even close to being up. Normally, I would want to continue receiving this magazine, but not at the exorbitant rate they are trying to charge. It is several times the normal rate. I especially don't care for the insulting tone of their letters. There is no phone number or other contact information on the collection letters, just an address where they want me to send a check. Well, good luck ever receiving a check from me, chumps. The letters are signed by G.L. Valk, VP. A quick Google search surprisingly informs me that this is a real person named Gerry Lindsay Valk of New Canaan CT. I wonder if he would appreciate a bunch of junk mail from me?
