On May the 5th I recieved a letter from Heartland Cable, stating that they would be switching their cable service to direct television. I called them the next day to get a price quote. I was told that I would need a credit card to recieve the new satelitte system.

I told them that I did not have a credit card and that I wanted to cancel my service with them. I was told that she would have someone come and get the attenna and the cables boxes.

Now, having stated that I no longer was in need of their services, I disconnected the 2 cable boxes in my home. I bought the direct television from a local company.

In June, I recieved a bill for the month of May, even though on or around May 5th, I cancelled my service. I once again called them and told them I had cancelled them in May. And again I was told that they would come and get the antenna and the cable boxes.

Finally, they came and got the antenna sometime in June, and forgot to take the cable boxes. And now, Saturday, July 20th, I get another bill for the months of May and June.

Now I ask you-How is it that someone can be charged for cable television when they don't even have an antenna to recieve a signal? And since I cancelled the service in May, I should have never gotten a bill especially when I had to tell them twice.

And today they called and asked if I wanted my service reconnected. I once again told them that I cancelled my service in May and that even if I wanted to, they already took the antennas. Which, by the way, they left all of their cable on my house.

My son cancelled his service around the same time, and he has had no problem, whatsoever.

This can be no way to run a business. I find it very interesting that they have been bought out by a direct television company. It sounds as if they are trying to make some extra money, before they go under.
