Heartland Inc. Magazine Subscription heartland express; heartland magazines RIpoff and scam urbandale, Iowa
I received a call from Heartland on or about November 24 asking me if I would like to purchase some magazines, for only 9.95 a month for 5 months for a total of 49.90 the last payment would be uneven blah, blah, blah. I though it would be a great deal for a brother whom is in prison for life, he like to get magazines. the man comes on the phone who is supposely the supervisor and gives my my account information the routing number and my checking account number. I asked him how did he have knowledge of my personal information like this he said my bank sends out information like this I start to argue with him and tell him that its against the law for banks to sell information to telemarketers he said well how else could we have gotten it? I told him well i don't know but I will be calling my bank firs tthing in the morning to find out. the call ended. i thought that was strange, I thought nothing else of it until i get some paper work from them in the mail. the white sheet stated the terms that $9.95 would be withdrawn form my account on the 8th of the month & then starting on the 10th of the following month $9.95 would be withdrawn again until the $49.90 was paid. the 2nd sheet stated that $49.90 would be taken out each month on the 10th for a grand total of $998.10 worth of saving, but how its worded is the catch, they are really going to try to take a total of $998.10 over a period of time from my account. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I tried to call the company to find out what is going on, that was not what I agreed to at all and plus I did not even approve of this transaction to take place. all of the numbers listed for them only ring, ring, ring, if this was a ligitmate company wouldn't someone pick up the phone eventually? so here i am trying to figure out what to do next. I was scammed and I am shocked, I usually don't fall for stuff like this. My bank refuses to do anything about this, so I will no longer be banking with them.
