OSI Quad caulk complaint

In July, my contractor and I bought caulk to fix a leak in my solarium. We used clear OSI Quad Advanced formula sealant, made by Henkel Corp. of Avon Ohio, purchased at Lowe's, SKU# 028756240006 date & crew #10153-18.

The contractor said it felt a little stiff as it came out of the tube and didn't feel normal as he worked the bead with his finger. The caulk dried for 24 hours.

On the next rain, the caulk failed, slithering down the joint and making an icicle-like blob at the bottom as shown on my website (((link redacted))). The seal leaked.

We contacted the company via their website, and got a call back from their technician, Mark Peklay who blamed the problem on the contractor because the contractor used his finger to smooth the bead out, adding that the caulk must not be "tooled".

On 8/4/10 I sent photos via email to Mark at his request, but got no response, nor did Mark respond to my followup email of 8/4/10.

So far, it has taken my contractor and I over 14 hours to try to remove the defective caulk, to the point of actually removing part of the siding. What a mess, as you can see at (((link redacted)))!

As you can tell, I am not pleased with this product or with the company.
