Complaint Review: R. Henry Elson

When I rented this house on myrtle street the neighbors ask me if I was buying the house and I said that I was renting the house for 1 year then had the option to buy after that. The neighbor across the street which has lived on the street for 25 years said to watch him because he had 3 other families in there before I rented it and he waits about 3 to 6 months after they signed their contact.

He then looks for things he thinks they have done wrong, including making improvments to the property, or as 1 day late on the payment of the house and says they broke their contact and evicts them and keeps their $5000.00 dollars down payment on the house. He was charging $600.00 a month for house payments. When his house payment is $425.00 a month at the bank.

In may of 2004 my oldest daughter was in a hospital and some of her friends come to stay with me while she was in the hospital to help me with the house. The landlord made a surprise visit and i had 7 teenagers in the house, myself and 2 other adults. The very next day I received a eviction notice say i broke my contract, saying I had to many people in his house and to many cars. After moving out he is refusing to refund my deposit. Saying I left the house trashed. The house was left in better shape then when I moved in.
