Complaint Review: Herbert Motors/Pontiac/Jeep Dealership

Herbert Motors tried to charge me $190.00 dollars to change out my spark plugs wires. On Oct 30th, I dropped off my car to have it looked at due to the infamous "Check Engine" light. The service attendant stated to me that they will be able to get to it tomorrow.

Oct 31st, I called Herbert motors to check on the status of my car. The service attendant stated to me that I needed a Fuel Injector Cleaning-$140.00. Fuel Filter-$60.00, and New front brakes-$240.00, in which I knew of and planned to do them myself.

He also mentioned that I needed new spark plug wires, which was the main cause of the the check engine light to come on. He wanted to charge me to have all of this done for my car. I stated back to him, no, just change out the spark plug wires, thinking that it shouldnt cost to much.

They stated the car should be ready by the after noon somtime. Me the Wife and my son decided to take the bus down to herbert motors to pick up the car. Lo and Behold, the car was sitting out right where I left it. (Gave me the impression that they havent even looked at it yet).

As soon as I walked in and asked what the status was on my car, they said, they are starting on it right now. 20-25 mins later the car was done. I even watched the mechanic change out the wires myself which all in all it took about 15 mins to change. Car was ready in about 25 mins from the time we showed up. I went to the cashier, and I just about freaked out when I saw the bill $190.00. I told the lady, no way, i'm not paying this. She stated back to me that you'll have to talk to the service manager.

I walked to the service managers office myself, and spoke to him about this. He stated to me its probably right, be he will double check. He walked over to a computer and checked around on a few things, Seemed like he did not know what the heck he was doing on the PC. He then states, we'll I'll give you a 10% discount. At that time, I agreed, stupid me should of kept on complaining. I ended up paying $171.90 for new spark plug wires.

I am aksing Ripoff Report to give me any suggestions on how I can get my hard earned money back from these crooks, and how many other people are they doing this to. THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF
